My life as a fat woman started 3 years ago. I wasn’t always like this. I know that sounds cliche’. I’ve always been one that might have needed to lose 5 pounds or so, but I’ve never been fat – until now. In the picture you see me, in 2005, just completing the 95 mile first day of the 150 mile Bike-To-The-Beach ride. I don’t look like that anymore…
I have renewed respect for people who struggle with weight problems. A culmination of bad timing and bad habits has brought me to a miserable place. It is my intention to use this blog to empower myself and hold myself accountable. I have no intention of using it to justify myself as a weak victim. That doesn’t mean there won’t be whining, and bouts of self-pity. However, above all of that I will find the determination to fix this problem.
I got myself here – I WILL get myself out.

I am on the journey of being healthy for life. I really believe if we live a balanced life the weight will take care of it self. Much easier some days than others. The journey has its bumps but the ride is aweome!
You are going to do great!
Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comments! I am really looking forward to following your blog. (added to my Reader)

This is really inspiring! I love your style and I am supremely flattered that you have my blog on your sidebar! I am excited to see you achieve your goals. It is really hard, I totally sympathize. But I am so glad to see you making changes and taking necessary steps to live life as you want to live it, and in the body you want to live it in.
Go on then girl! Git!
HG – Glad to be inspiring!! I added your blog because I LOVE it!!! It is an excellent blog & I wanted visitors here to be able to find you!!
As I lose the weight, I’ll be looking to great sites like yours to formulate healthy menus & healthy attitudes about food.
TTYL…
Hi Veronica! Thank you so much for your comments on my blog last week. I’m really glad you stopped by–I really like your attitude from what I have read so far.
Lara – Thank you!! Your site is helpful for me. A healthy reminder of life without the weight issue. It was really helpful for me to find a site where weight & life is dealt with in a healthy manner – yours does.
And your hubby, Matthew fully rocks – loved his half marathon accomplishment!!
